Beginning in early 2016, I started photographing birds at my parent's backyard bird feeder on St. Joseph Island. I became interested to see how many different species I could find coming to the feeder. That quickly changed to how many different species I can find everywhere. At first, I only kept a life list and did not keep a record of where and when I saw each bird. In November 2016, I discovered eBird and have been since recording all my sightings.
While I am not even close to a professional photographer, I still manage a few alright shots with my Canon PowerShot SX530 HS. I usually don't try too hard to get the perfect picture, but if the opportunity presents itself, I'll take it. I mainly focus on taking pictures for identification purposes or rare birds, but those usually aren't high quality. EXPERIENCE
